Carer Support Groups

Caring can be rewarding, but it can also make you feel isolated and alone - like you are the only one.... Support Groups are a great way to meet with other people in similar situations, share your stories, hear from speakers and pick up tips and learn new skills.   We organise lunches and trips, and great friendships often evolve.  All the groups are confidential, and you can feel free to talk openly with people who really do understand.

Support Groups are based all over the Borders and meet once every 6 weeks.  Please see below for more information.   Check our Facebook Events Page for all dates and times.

You may also find The Reluctant Carer blog here of interest.

We are delighted to be able to offer face-to-face support groups again

Click on your chosen area for more information.
Please note you are welcome to attend any one of the groups, not just the one in your own area.
Please note, these groups are your opportunity to take some time out, and are not open to the cared-for.

Support groups are a great way to get together with other people in a similar position to yourself to chat and share.  The groups are open to anyone who is caring for a friend, relative or neighbour.  All our groups are confidential, so you can feel safe to talk openly with people who really do understand and can offer support and friendship.

We meet every month, and will also arrange speakers, outings. lunches etc.  In short, whatever you would like in order to help support you in your caring role.

It is recommended that you call the Centre on 01896 752431 before attending a support group for the first time in case any last minute changes have been made.
