Location: Galashiels office / Scottish Borders Salary: £39,000 – £42,000 per annum
Hours: 28 – 35 hours per week Contract: Permanent, full-time

Borders Carers Centre is dedicated to improving outcomes for unpaid carers across the Scottish Borders. We provide a range of services to help carers achieve positive personal outcomes and maintain their wellbeing.

We offer advice, information and support, which includes assessing carer needs and producing carers support plans, benefits support, grants & funding, short breaks and peer support groups. We also offer a counselling service, hospital services and a programme of events and activities.

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead our Carer Liaison Team and ensure the Centre operates efficiently and effectively. You’ll play a key role in supporting staff, overseeing service delivery, and contributing to the strategic development of the organisation. This is a new role within the organisation and is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of carers while shaping the future of a respected local charity.

  • Line manage, support, and develop the Carer Liaison Team through supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice.
  • Ensure high-quality support for carers that promotes independence and wellbeing.
  • Oversee operational communications, events, and deputise for the Chief Officer when required.
  • Contribute to organisational planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Promote collaborative working across the team and with external partners.

You’ll be a confident leader with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting carers. You should have:

  • Proven experience in team management and service delivery.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • A full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle (travel across the Borders required).
