Advocacy: Ensuring Your Voice is Heard and Respected
Many carers find it is very tough to have their voices heard, and often report feeling like they are ‘banging their head off a brick wall’.
The Borders Carers Centre can advocate on your behalf or accompany you to meetings to ensure that you have your say and that you are listened to. The meetings must be in relation to your caring role and may be with health, the hospital, social work etc.
For specific advice relating to NHS, get in touch with Citizens Advice and ask about The Patient Advice and Support Service.
